By virtue of posting their worst record since 2008, the Green Bay Packers are in position to have their highest draft choice since 2009.
The Packers own the 14th selection in the first round of the NFL draft, which will be held April 26 in Arlington, Texas.
Since the draft was initiated in 1936 the Packers have exercised the 14th choice just three times. Their picks in that position were fullback Earl Gros in 1962, linebacker Dave Robinson in ’63 and tight end Bubba Franks in ‘00. Robinson made the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.
