Even though Tony Brown has been penalized three times in three weeks and almost cost the Green Bay Packers a game coach Mike McCarthy apparently intends to stand by the erratic newcomer just as Nick Saban did at Alabama for four years and the Los Angeles Chargers from May through August.
“I think Tony will definitely learn from that one,” McCarthy said Tuesday in a semi-defense of Brown’s actions that led to an unnecessary roughness penalty in the last 2 minutes of the Packers’ 33-30 victory over San Francisco.
