Mike McCarthy’s options essentially were two-fold Thursday night with the Green Bay Packers facing fourth and 2 at their 33 with 4 minutes, 20 seconds left and the Seattle Seahawks leading, 27-24.
1.) Punt, relying on the defense to get the ball back even though the Seahawks’ top-ranked rushing attack already had accounted for 149 yards on the ground.
2.) Go for it, putting the ball in the hands of Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback the Packers handed $98.2 million guaranteed shortly before the season.
