Denny LaFleur spent several years as a defensive coach at Central Michigan University.
Each summer, LaFleur would work camps at the University of Michigan and bring his young son, Matt, along.
Interestingly enough, father and son wouldn’t spend the day together. Instead, Denny went his way and Matt went the other.
“I would take him down there with me and I would literally never see him,” Denny said of Matt. “I would not see him until 3 p.m. when the day was done.
“I would go off with the defensive coaches and Matt was always throwing, so he’d go with the offense....
