The hierarchy of the Green Bay Packers should remain largely intact in 2018 with the news Sunday that the Green Bay Packers have handed control of their football operation to Brian Gutekunst.
Gutekunst, 44, moves from director of player personnel to general manager and succeeds Ted Thompson, who stepped aside six days earlier.
Vice president and contract negotiator Russ Ball, whom sources indicated throughout the week would end up with the job, probably will remain in his current role with a different title and a higher salary.
