Ted Thompson, a general manager who almost always gives his draft choices the benefit of the doubt in their first year, might be parting company with as many three from his Class of 2017 over the next 36 hours.
Like every team, the Green Bay Packers must reach the 53-man roster limit Saturday at 3 p.m (CST).
The annual gnashing of teeth by coach Mike McCarthy and Thompson is overdone. Every player on the current 88-man roster had his chance, and many of the players headed for the waiver wire know in their heart of hearts they’re not good enough to play pro football.
