ROB REISCHEL

Packers correspondent: Reischel is entering his 22nd year as sports editor of News Publishing Company and oversees weekly newspapers in western Dane County. Reischel has won 17 awards from the Wisconsin Newspaper Association since 1997 for his writing and page designs.

In addition to his full-time job, he has maintained a busy schedule as a sports free-lancing journalist. His primary free-lance work was with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, where he served as the main writer for Packer Plus from 2001-’17. He also covered a wide array of high-school sports during his 20 years with the newspaper.

Today, Reischel covers the Packers for Forbes.com in addition to Bobmcginnfootball.com. Reischel’s coverage of the NFL and the Packers has also appeared in The New York Times, the Chicago Tribune, the Dallas Morning News, Pro Football Weekly and many other publications.

Reischel is the author of eight Packers-related books. His subjects include Mike McCarthy, Aaron Rodgers and LeRoy Butler.

Born in Milwaukee, Reischel graduated from West Bend East High School. He then attended the University of Wisconsin, where he received a journalism degree.

His sports-writing career in the state also includes three years at the Daily Cardinal on the UW campus, two at the Beloit Daily News and three at the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison. He also hosted an afternoon sports talk show on WHIT Madison from 1999-’01.
