Perhaps Jermaine Whitehead blew a gasket behind closed doors. Maybe he challenged the head coach. Possibly he said a few things to the general manager.
Unless Whitehead talked his way out of town by word and/or action, the decision by GM Brian Gutekunst to release him made no sense when it was announced Tuesday and still doesn’t three days later.
